Special Needs DentistryCoral Springs, FL

At Children’s Dentistry of Coral Springs, we believe that it’s important for every child to have a positive experience at the dentist’s office. We want the children we meet and treat to enjoy their time in the dental chair rather than feeling anxious, fearful, or overwhelmed. While we are confident in our abilities to make every child smile, laugh, and become interested in their oral health, we recognize that some children may need extra attention to get the most out of their visit. That is why we offer special needs dentistry for children with physical, cognitive, and developmental disabilities. Read below to learn more!

Special Needs Pediatric Dentist

Our special needs pediatric dentists have undergone extensive training in order to best meet the needs of children with disabilities. We are experienced in providing a range of preventive dental care as well as necessary restorative treatments for these children. With a goal of establishing inclusive care for every child in Coral Springs, FL, we make it our mission to see that these children don’t just tolerate or get through their appointment, but actually enjoy it.

Overall, we are passionate about providing a warm and welcoming environment, in which all children can feel safe and comfortable. Our special needs dentistry team is dedicated to providing personalized care for each child with a disability, ensuring that we meet both the physical and emotional needs of all our patients.

The Visit

Like with every patient, our pediatric care team handles each visit and every procedure differently to ensure the best possible experience for the particular child. We do this by getting to know our patients beyond their smiles, and we approach each child with patience, understanding, and different accommodations to help them feel more at ease. Some of these accommodations we propose include calming music or other sensory aids that can help children cope with their dental visits. In addition to this, parents can bring a favorite toy or stuffed animal from home to help their child relax in the dental chair. Parents are welcome to stay with their children during the visit to ensure that they are as comfortable as possible.

If requested, we would be happy to schedule your child’s appointment at a less busy time of day so you both have time to get adjusted to the office and feel more settled. We can also administer safe dental sedation upon request.
